After watching Hot Target, here are my observations:

- Dr. Evil moment: When the bad guy says that the price of the laser has gone up to 3 million dollars, I couldn't help but think "That's not a lot of money for a weapon these days."

- Nerd/Engineer Comment: Lasers burn holes in things, they do not cause explosions like what happened to the limo they shot.

- When the bad guys activate the laser during the "demonstration", Norman can pick up the radar signature of the laser. Yet after they load up the helicopter and take off, Norman can still track it. Did they leave the laser on when they loaded it into the helicopter?

- It was really great to see the human side of Norman; seeing him pine over lost love, laughing at how badly he wants to impress Mona, and watching him be the hero to rescue her. He even gets a kiss! :-*

- Potential Jesse & Rachel hook up: when Jesse is trying to come up with the speech for the commander, Rachel offers to help him. Jesse invites her over to his apartment after work to help him out. I was so hoping for a :-* moment! But, alas, it was all work and no play.

- The secretary taking lunch up the elevator to Marpel's office really did look like a model! Not particularly bright, either.

- It has been said many times before, so I won't go off again on the scene with the station wagon rolling down the hill, crashing, and then reappearing in front of Command Center...okay, maybe I will. Not only did the station wagon reappear in front of Command Center, but Norman is driving it again when he goes back to Marpel Labs to rescue Mona! It really must have been a standard issue government vehicle.

- Love the old telephone modem in Marpel's office!

- It was funny seeing Jesse try and activate the launch tube in Command Center all by himself.

- The bad guys look a bit silly driving around in a Jeep with the laser weapon on back. Especially when the guy manning the laser falls off the back just because Street Hawk jumped overhead.

Favorite Quotes:

Jesse to beautiful secretary after knocking over the lunch cart: "I guess I tossed the salad." ::)

Actually if you listen to the impact sound FX as the bike passes by, and watch the low angle the scene was shot at you can see they were trying to make it look like the bikes front tire hit the barrel of the laser gun causing it to turn and knock the guy out of the jeep.

That laser gun prop at the time was one of Universal Studios prize props. Appearing in Street Hawk, Knight Rider, Airwolf, and a couple of other series. They weren't going to ruin it by letting the bike really hit it. So with a little creative angle and the right sound fx it works. :)

At first when you said "Prize Prop" I thought you meant it was some special giveaway prize from Universal Studios "Send in 12 proofs of purchase and be entered to win our grand prize, a real lazer gun prop from Universal Studios used in the hit show Street Hawk!"

It would be cool if someone could find footage from Airwolf and Knight Rider showing this prop in action as well.

Thanks for the comment, Scott! Might be a bit confusing now that there's a second Scott, considering that's my name too. :)

Scott and Scott, oh dear... Which one is the EVIL one???? LoL

The Airwolf episode is "Annie Oakley" from Season Two. A clip of the scene can be found here:

A really cool scene featuring some great stunt bike work on a XR250 of all things!

I had a chance to watch the video.

Honestly, they don't look like the same prop. The one in Hot Target was bigger and had a continuous barrel. The on in Airwolf looked smaller, simpler, and had a ribbed barrel (no sophmoric jokes!)

When the bike Vertical lifts over the boxes and the Jeep CJ crashes into them and rolls over, we then see on landing, bits from SH fall off, has Norman been putting the bike together with Chewing Gum lately?

This may just be me, but does anyone else think Molina's voice sounds very like Joe's. I even started to wonder if Sam Ingraffia's voice might have been dubbed by Joe.
Take a gander and tell me I'm imagining it...

That's a similar laser prop, but not the same one. The same prop appears in the 4th season episode of Airwolf called "A Town for Hire" and in the 3rd season episode of Knight Rider called Knight Strike. Finally in the series Sliders I THINK it appears in the episode The Seer. I know it's appears in Sliders, however I've only watched that episode once and it's possible I'm wrong about the title.

Thanks for the confirmation. I used to watch "Sliders" when it was on, but didn't see more than a handful of episodes. I might see about getting some on DVD. I liked the concept very much. Remember it got quite silly though...

lol. This was one of my favourite episodes. It's so generic, but generic in a good way. It's like Streethawk really caught it's stride.

As usual, Pentastar made all the observations I would make. There are a few other bits though.

- The car with no brakes thing was goofy :) When they "swapped" seats, the car actually swerves so sharply that it's almost completely sideways at one point. It makes me think they could have just got the car to spin out and come to almost a complete halt.. rather than having to jump out of a fast moving car like they did. I also personally would much rather grind my car into the mountain on the left, to bring it to a halt... rather than driving it off a cliff. But that wouldn't make good TV :)

- I love how even although it's a kid friendly show, they often used manage to get a few sexy girl butt shots in there haha. The camera full on focuses right in on this girls behind:
Image

And rightly so! Beautiful.

- The scene where Jessy knocks the salad over, is one of the most awkward scenes I've ever seen on a TV show!!! The security guard walks past the camera and just out of sight - but only by a few feet!!! And then Jessy sprints over to the trolley and knocks it over. Theres no way in hell the security guard wouldn't have heard all that commotion and gone to see what the heck he was up to.
And yeah, the secretary was nice looking, but pretty dumb. The whole scene was really awkward, and he says some stupid things, but I suppose it doesn't really matter because she is so dumb, he could have said anything.

- Charles Napier kinda cracks me up. I've seen him in hundreds of cheap movies and shows and stuff. He isn't terrible, but I imagine his tagline is probably, "Need a bad guy?! Left it to the last minute and you can't get anyone else?! Then Charles is your man! He's really cheap too".

- Norman's girl is nice! Sad that they love each other but can never really get together. That was kind of left as a loose end.

- Favourite quote, was the part about the joke:
-Theres these two hookers and the police commander...
- Jessy! The mayor and his wife will be there!!!
- ok ok...
- Theres this one hooker and the police commander...

- The bike gets one of the best action sequences I've seen out of all the episodes so far imo! I love it. It gets to do a *few* big jumps, and one of them is a good stunt (through the garbage container thingy), and it generally just has a massive HURRAH! SH TO THE RESCUE! hero type effect. It's probably only 1 minute long in total, but it was just done really well imo. I really liked it.

- it looks like he smashes bits off the bike after one of the jumps, because it lands hard and bits seem to go all over the floor.

- Funniest scene. This bit just cracked me up for some reason:
Image

I think it's cause he is standing there in a suit... and he has a funny expression on his face, and the omgz lazor!!! looks quite funny too :)

I really enjoyed that episode, although I've enjoyed them all.

p.s. I also wonder how they get SH BACK into the command centre :P Maybe they have a side door or something.. but if it has to jump out of that chamber it's stored in, it makes me think they would have a hard time getting it back in. I can just picture Jessy banging on that fake poster and yelling at Norman to 'bring the ramp', so he can get back inside cause he used up all his vertical lift boost. :P
