Skynet's Helmet Build: 3D Printed Parts For Sale

Post by skynet » Thu Jun 15, 2017 1:31 am

Hey guys, I'm putting together a replica helmet and thought I'd post progress here. Still working on the 3d models so if you have any input or ideas please let me know. Parts will be 3d printed in clear and black PLA plastic. Maybe offering a few kits for the vintage GHIBLI helmet if all goes well.

This is a small sound card for the helmet. Three switches will be mounted outside on the side mic, and files play at random inside the helmet :D

Finally received the helmet from Italy. Although listed as new/old stock, the liner was perished so spent afew hours cleaning and repairing it. Next week I will take it to my work and scan it as they have a 3d scanner :D

Thanks, yeah I like the helmet too, but was surprised to see how they attached the visor to the arms, no bolts
?

I have lost a lot of images as Photobuket is a pay site now, so moving to flicker. Scanned the helmet and have started to size and mod the parts, hope to print this weekend and test.

Yes they are quite flimsy, hence they were dirt cheap in the 80's and fizzled out after a couple of years. However that said the design is lovely and you can see why Universal chose it for Street Hawk.
