CR250 Bikes
I don't know if you guys knew that several of the CR250 jump bikes used wire spokes rims instead of the PM alum rims. They covered the spoked rims on each side of the rim with gold painted metal hubcabs that had the same cut out shape as the alum rims. Each side was wired tied together. The wire rims handled the jumps and didn't crack, like the alum rims. They first used Morris Mags (magnesium) but the rims split and broke during jump scenes. The alum rims also got damaged, but more durable. So for the extreme jumps the hub cab wire rims were used.

I had heard this before, really interesting, have you got any photos?
Re: CR250 Bikes
There is a picture on this site that shows the bike in the warehouse. You can just make it out in the picture.
